Simulation of Lamella Clarifiers

What are the benefits of hydrograv-Simulationen?

Lamella clarifiers are used for the separation of particles from liquids. They consist of a series of inclined parallel plates or tubes. The feed stream flows upward between them. The solids settle downwards onto the surface area provided by the plates or tubes and then sliding down towards the bottom of the tank. Uniform flow is essential for optimum function. This is not always the case. With hydrograv simulations the inflow and outflow can be verified and optimised in a targeted manner.

In addition to the hydraulic distribution within the lamellae the separation rate of various particle with different settling characteristics is also investigated.
